Speed measurement on a shaft with fixed pitch propeller

To find the right solution, it is necessary to know whether a free shaft end can be accessed or whether a toothed wheel or a flywheel can be used for speed measurement. In addition, for reversing drives (shaft turning clockwise and anti-clockwise) it is necessary to detect the rotation direction of the shaft.

To find the right solution you have to answer the following question: Where is the measurement location? Should the measurement data acquisition be contactless or mechanically driven? Should the measurement values be indicated or not? Depending on these questions, you have different possibilities (see next table). For each possibility in the next table, we offer different solutions.

Speed measurement with mechanically driven speed encoder type NADS3 and analogue indicator NORIMETER 3 with integrated direction of rotation detection type NIx3-...-FD1. As option, one or more measuring transducers type VF5 for additional analogue measuring signals. As option, one or more limit value switches type RF5 for additional switch points.
