We are the experts in transport technology. Our sensors, indicators and switching devices are often found in rail vehicles, special vehicles, and anywhere where there is a specific demand for products with a high degree of robustness and longevity. Below is an extract from our list of references. Please get in touch with our sales team for the latest detailed reference list.

Stadler Rail AG – Projekt FLIRT Abellio East Anglia

© Stadler Rail AG, FLIRT Abellio East Anglia

On behalf of Stadler Rail AG, we are equipping the new FLIRT Abellio East Anglia with temperature sensors at the bogie for measuring the gearbox bearing temperatures. The project comprises more than 50 trains, which will run between London and Norwich, on the airport lines of Stansted Express from Liverpool railway station to Stansted and on the important regional lines in East Anglia.

Siemens AG – Project ICE 4

© Siemens AG, ICE 4

On behalf of Siemens, we are equipping Deutsche Bahn's new ICE 4 trains with speed and temperature sensors, with our first delivery lot covering 130 out of 300 railcars in total. The sensors are used on the traction motors and measure the speed, in addition to the bearing and stator temperatures. This assembly requires a special protective tubing structure that is well-designed for harsh environments (dirty track beds, impact from stones and ice, etc.).

Siemens AG – Projects Velaro RUS and Velaro CN

© Siemens AG, Velaro RUS

On behalf of Siemens, we are equipping Velaro RUS and Velaro CN high-speed trains with speed and temperature sensors. The sensors are built into the trains' traction motors and measure the speed, in addition to the bearing temperature of the traction motor and gearbox.

A speed sensor of type FAHZ5 and a sensor assembly (wiring harness) consisting of three temperature sensors (TKB314) has been fitted on the traction motor. A sensor assembly with four temperature sensors (TKB414) has been installed on the gearbox. A special protective tubing structure provides the best possible protection for the cabling from extremes of temperature and impact from stones and ice. All sensors are able to pivot 360° thanks to an innovative, patented hinge solution on the cable outlet. This protects the sensors and cabling against torsional stress.

Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich (VBZ) – Project VBZ-Cobra

© Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich, VBZ-Cobra

On behalf of municipal transportation company Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich, NORIS is equipping 88 VBZ-Cobra type trams, manufactured by Bombardier, with speed sensors. Following the completion of a field test, in which the sensors were tested on rail vehicles for a year with regard to durability and accuracy, NORIS eventually won the day. The project involves the modernisation of the wheel arch and traction motor sensors, which is being carried out during the inspections that take place as part of the regular maintenance schedule. Extreme environmental influences, such as temperature variation, extreme vibration forces of up to 100 g acting on unsprung bogie wheels, as well as the effects of thawing salt, can be very pronounced in certain regions and require a particularly robust solution. This is why speed sensors of type FAHZ5 are used on the bogie wheel and traction motor. These sensors have been specifically developed for these extreme demands, on the one hand being equipped with polyamide protective tubing to provide sufficient protection against the elements, and on the other hand offering enough flexibility to optimally protect the sensors and cabling.

Voith Turbo Lokomotivtechnik – Projects Voith Maxima and Voith Gravita

© Voith Turbo Lokomotivtechnik, Voith Maxima

On behalf of Voith Turbo Lokomotivtechnik, we are equipping Voith Maxima main-line locomotives and Voith Gravita shunting engines with analogue indicators belonging to the NORIMETER product family in order to enable visualisation of speed, temperature and brake force.

The indicators are installed in the control console, having been adapted to the customer's requirements with a custom scale for speed and temperature, as well as a custom pictograph for the gear oil temperature.

Stadler Altenrhein AG – Project Tango Geneva

© Stadler Altenrhein AG, Tango Geneva

On behalf of Stadler Altenrhein AG, we are equipping Tango Geneva trams with analogue indicators to visualise the speed [km/h]. The analogue indicator, from the NORIMETER product family, is installed in the control console of the tram, and a custom scale has been used.

Albert Ziegler GmbH & Co. KG

© Albert Ziegler GmbH & Co. KG

On behalf of Albert Ziegler GmbH & Co. KG, we are equipping the foam systems of special vehicles (fire engines) with our analogue indicators from the NORIMETER product family. The indicators visualise the fill level of the foam system and the water, as well as including a custom scale featuring the customer's logo.
