Scope of application

This Code of Conduct applies to all sites and business units in the NORIS Group. At the same time, NORIS also encourages its suppliers to comply with the principles set out in this Code.

Legal rules and regulations

The undersigned company complies with the laws and regulations in force in the countries in which it is active and requires its suppliers to do the same.

Communications

Each company that signs the Code is responsible for communicating the requirements of the Code to all of its employees and suppliers.

Transparency and customer dialogue

The company recognises the rights of its customers to important information on products and processes. Wherever possible, it will specify the relevant information and make it accessible.

Corporate Citizenship

The company demonstrates corporate citizenship by make a positive contribution to the communities in which it is active.

Forced labour

No form of forced labour, including forced labour in prisons and bonded labour, shall be used.

Integrity and anti-corruption

NORIS focusses its business activities on generally accepted ethical values and principles, in particular integrity, honesty, respect for human dignity, openness and non-discrimination based on religion, ideology, gender and ethic background. NORIS rejects all form of corruption and bribery, as stated in the relevant UN convention. We promote the appropriate level of transparency, integrity and responsible leadership and management in the company.

Child labour

The use of child labour is prohibited. The minimum working age in accordance with government regulations shall be observed and child labour shall not be allowed.

Harassment

Employees shall not be subjected to any form of physical punishment or any other form of physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse.

Remuneration

Remuneration, including salaries, overtime pay and fringe benefits, shall be at least as high as the legal minimum amount or higher. The guaranteed pay for full employment must be sufficient to cover the basic needs of the employee. Remuneration shall take place punctually at the agreed time.

Working hours

Working hours shall at least comply with the relevant national legal regulations or the minimum standards of the respective national industry sector.

Non-discrimination

Equal opportunities and equal treatment shall be guaranteed regardless of ethic background, skin colour, gender, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, social background or political beliefs, provided that these are based on democratic principles and a tolerance of people with different opinions. Employees shall be selected, employed and promoted based on their qualifications and their capabilities.

Health and Safety

In order to avoid accidents and personal injury, the employer shall ensure safe and healthy working conditions, which fulfil the valid legal provisions as a minimum requirement. A safety in the workplace committee shall be set up at each site to inspect working conditions regularly.

Freedom of association

The employer shall recognise and respect the legal right of employees to freedom of association.

Environment

The company operates environmentally-friendly practices, which are continuously improved, at all of the locations in which it is active. All the requirements and standards of environmental protection concerning its business operations are fulfilled and the company has a responsible approach towards the use of natural resources. Waste sorting and recycling are minimum requirements.
