Wireless data logging on moveable parts drew visitors' attention

The SPS IPC Drives 2016 closed its gates. 63,000 visitors could inform themselves about the latest automation technology on over 122,000 m². This year, NORIS exhibited under the roof of the AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement. Besides other products, the new concept for wireless data logging was the highlight on the NORIS fair stand and ensured many interesting discussions with visitors about potential applications. The new concept is especially suitable for predictive maintenance. Basis is a sensor with autarkic transponder, that is mounted on a moveable part and is provided wirelessly with energy and also transmits wirelessly the measuring data in regular intervals to a receiver. The advantage of this concept is the measurement at places that are difficult to access, e. g. the measurement on shafts or in big end bearings.
