On July 1, 2024, new cyber security requirements for maritime systems came into force. Noris is already ahead: 16 Local Operation Panels (LOPs), installed on four vessels, have been officially certified “Cyber Secure (Essential) / Security Level 1” by DNV and Lloyd’s Register.

This certification is based on the international standard IEC 62443-3 and complies with IACS UR E26 and UR E27, offering protection against common threats such as malware, user errors, or unintended interference. The project marks a significant milestone in collaboration with a leading engine manufacturer and shipbuilding group.
