Modern trams with NORIS sensors at two new locations

The modern tram ForCity Smart from Skoda Transportation will be in operation at two further locations from 2021, with numerous sensors from NORIS on board. The delivery of the first trams has already begun.

In Tampere, Finland, the trams will be used on the newly emerging tram network there. For the first stage, Skoda Transportation is delivering 19 trams, with the option of 46 more. The other major project involves a total of 80 new trams for Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr GmbH (RNV), which connects the cities of Heidelberg, Mannheim and Ludwigshafen in Germany. NORIS is equipping the low-floor, bi-directional trams with proven and robust speed sensors type FAHQ52 and temperature sensors type TA14. In total, NORIS is installing more than 1000 sensors in both projects. These are not the first major projects with Skoda Transportation. NORIS has already been able to contribute its expertise to Skoda's tram projects in the past and we are already looking forward to upcoming great projects!
